This is a 500mm section of continuous picatinny rail. The rail has more than enough height for modifications and custom picatinny rail fitting. As with a lot of rifles, the top of the action have a radius and/or different heights from front to rear. So the thickness of the rail can be cut down in height and radius cuts profiled in the underside. The rail has been blued, but after modification, this will expose the silver steel colour, so will probably require re-blueing. The material is made from very high quality and strong steel and requires high quality tools for cutting and modification.
